Breast milk lollipop, anyone?

I was okay with the breast milk pendants and the breast milk soap… well, I wouldn’t choose to wash with it but that’s because I prefer fresh, citrusy fragrances for my bath products. But what about sucking on a breast milk lollipop? Time to draw the line?

The people behind US-based boutique confectionary, Lollyphile, noticed a trend amongst their friends – they were all having babies! And what were those babies totally focused on? Their next feed! Figuring that breast milk must be delicious, they set about ‘candifying’ the flavour of breast milk and have created breast milk lollipops (note that there is no actual breast milk in the lollipops, they simply replicate the flavour).

It’s a rare occurrence but I think I’m at a loss for words… There’s a joke lurking there about using a lollipop to give the mum who seems to be constantly feeding a break, but perhaps it’s better left unsaid! Moving on…

On further browsing Lollyphile’s virtual store, I found a few unusual flavours that were more my cup of tea including strawberry-banana daiquiri lollipops for grown-ups, green tea, passionfruit and maple-bacon (although I may have to file that one under ‘acquired taste’ as well!).

Breast milk lollipops are available directly from Lollyphile and cost US$10 for four. You can also buy in bulk if you develop a taste for them. Lollyphile ship internationally.
